The NB Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (NBPLAR) Action Group is a participatory committee under the Minister of Postsecondary Education, Training & Labour (PETL) in association with the New Brunswick Council on Articulations and Transfer (NBCAT). It is not a legal entity and has no legislative or regulatory authority.
NBPLAR Action Group consists of a maximum of 20 voting member organizations representing key PLAR stakeholders in New Brunswick. Membership shall be at the invitation of the Deputy Minister of PETL and shall include, but not be limited to:
- New Brunswick’s post-secondary institutions
- Organizations providing PLAR services to targeted population groups
- Federal and GNB departments whose mandates coincide with the delivery of PLAR
- Professional Organizations, Unions, and Employers
The Chair and Vice-Chair of NBPLAR Action Group are elected biennially at the Annual General Meeting (AGM). The Chair and Vice-Chair share a combined responsibility to communicate and respond to communications in both official languages.
