Liisa Timonen was a keynote speaker at this year’s CATNB/NBPLAR syposium. She is the Head of International Affairs at Karelia University of Applied Sciences in Finland. She is involved with international relations, research and pedagogical development and oversees the internationalization of education in Karelia UAS. Formerly she was working as the Head of Education and Development coordinating two degree programmes, international affairs and RDI in the field of Bio-economy. Timonen has research expertise in pedagogical development and multicultural education in a higher education context. Besides the other duties, she continuously acts as a researcher in different projects dealing with development of higher education, students’ learning process, diversity management and teachers’ expertise.
